Henry Sweetleimamo Evangelista Jr., 67 of Pahoa died Sept. 1 at home. He was an entrepreneur, owning Kukui Boy Products, distributor of wholesale and retail manufacturing of food products, catering, preparing meals for the Alu Like Kupuna program, owner of the Waiakea Kai Cafe and Snack Shop serving local-style foods, Mamo-Ulu Creations, a local attire company, musician and songwriter, artist, and man of many talents who received the Golden Hammer Award for the Class of 1975 at Pahoa High School. Private services with cremation to follow. Survived by daughter, Lesly Makamae S. (Damon) Remmers; son, Layne Mohala (Ku‘uhoni) Wong-Evangelista; mother of his children, Ululani Tammy Evangelista; partner, Jackie Markham; sisters, Sandy Evangelista, Emmalyn Evangelista of Hilo and Heather (Christian)Kubo of Puna, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Michael Dane Kuheana, 76, of Hilo died Sept. 15 at home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired Nani Mau Gardents groundskeeper, construction worker, Hawaii.
